What is the Summer Science Immersion Camp?The Summer Science Immersion Camp offered by D Evans Tutoring is a 4-week program aimed to prepare students for Physics and Chemistry. Students who attend will leave the course with a firm understanding of the foundations of these core sciences. As students register for either Physics or Chemistry, their understanding will vastly improve affording them the confidence for scholastic success in the semesters to follow.

What level of school is included is the Summer Science Immersion Camp?The Summer Science Immersion Camp offered by D Evans Tutoring is intended for 8th to 12th grade students. The concepts reviewed in this summer course provide a foundation for understanding Chemistry and Physics from the IPC level to the high school/pre-collegiate level. Signing up early is important to ensure your student is properly organized with other students of the same grade level.

Is the entire course virtual?Yes, the course will be made available entirely and accessible across the globe. Miami/South Florida residents will have the option to participate in hybrid/in-person options for select hours, however, attendees will receive the same instruction as our virtual guests.

How much does this course cost?The cost of the Summer Science Immersion Camp is $550 per student for 1-on-1 sessions and $300 per student for groups. Groups require a minimum of 2 students and will hold no more than 5 students.

Are there any courses required to participate in the Summer Science Immersion Camp?Students should have either completed or are set for enrollement in Algebra for the upcoming Fall to prove successful in our program. Early registration is recommended to ensure your student is organized with other students of similar enrollment status.

What exactly will the students learn?The Summer Science Immersion Program is built to provide students a firm foundation within Chemistry and Physics. Success during the standard academic year rests on students ability to: -Organize data for proper for efficient problem solving. -Complete algebra based calculations based scientific data. -Read and manipulate within at Periodic Table (Chemistry). -A fundamental understanding of the kinetic forces of nature (Physics). -And much more! Student will leave our program with confidence to approach any problem with minimal aid during the standard academic year.

Will there be grades?Yes, student progress will be accessible for online grades. Students can expect to attend 2 classes per week with a minor quiz made available at the end of each week. Weekly homework questions will be incorporated into the weekly quiz grade. Students will also have 2 major quiz grades to round out a total of 7 assessments to ensure the understanding of our pupils. Students will also be graded based on their class participation. Engagment and articulation is the key to subject mastery.

What will the schedule look like?Each term will comprise of 8 instructional times. Over the course of 4 weeks, we will meet twice a week for one-hour each session. Based on registration, students will either participate on Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesday/Thursdays. We will reserve Fridays as a make-up day. Missing more than 3 classes will significantly reduce the efficacy of our program, so please register with discretion.
